All of the evangelists indicate that a rather elaborate preparing, or wrapping, of Jesus’ body in a shroud took place, and that the Sabbath was fast approaching, forcing those who prepared the body to do so somewhat hastily (see Matt. 27:57; Mark 15:42; Luke 23:54; John 19:42).
